INSIDE: . . . are a precious gift ~
INSIDE SCRIPTURE: "A Friend loves at all times . . ." Proverbs 17:17
BACK: ~ The California Fires ~ On October 21, 2007, multiple fires developed in San Diego County. At 11:00 am, the second largest fire in the history of California, the Witch Creek fire, started in Santa Ysabel and quickly spread to Ramona, causing the entire community of over 40,000 people and 10 ,000 horses to be evacuated! By midnight, the fire blazed through the San Pasqual Valley, propelled by 100 mph Santa Ana winds, endangering the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Thankfully, the fire burned around the park without harming the animals. Meanwhile, horses from all over the county were evacuated to the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Fires burned in San Diego County for days, destroying over 370,000 acres, 1600 homes, and injuring 105 firefighters, 23 civilians, and taking seven lives. This photograph captures an emotional reunion upon returning home after being evacuated for over a week. Both during and after this disaster, people pulled together with amazing love and support, and numerous stories of miracles have been told.
